Vertical City

Most major Asian cities are much more vertical than US cities.

One of the things that Jessica was so impressed with was the "uniqueness" of the buildings.  Much more variation that she is used to seeing in Houston and Dallas.

Malaysia likes to talk about biggest/tallest/firstest/etc - The Petronas towers was the tallest building in the world for awhile - then the title was taken away by Dubai.  Still a tourist attraction and impressive.

Big cities need art and to humanize the tall buildings.  KL does a nice job of finding the mix.    Architecture seems to be the artistic strength of Malaysia.

Keeping unique and at least semi-historic neighborhoods - in this case Brickfields - Indian community that was the ......... brickmakers of KL (one of the skills the British imported with the Indians)

The old British courthouse and administrative center - very well maintained.

Are we in Seattle with Space Needle?  No - this is KL - actually a restaurant (rotating) at the top.  Highest general public view of KL since you can only go to the Skybridge on the Petronas Towers
Cool designs

Going to the top

Lots of cooling refreshing water - you need it if you are out during the day.
