Street side view of small resort town Java

This is a random collection of pictures that we got from walking around one afternoon didn't fit anywhere else to give you a feeling for Indonesia

Carved stone is everywhere - not sure I understand who would buy it - the shipping cost would be huge!

Chinese cemetary - while common in Malaysia - rare in Indonesia.  Not surprising based on the relative Chinese populations (and earlier Chinese pograms in Indonesia)
Great colors on some of the houses
Similar neighborhood styles as in Malaysia - no gaps between houses
The house/shelter might be falling down but the roof is solid.  All the roofs were this tile - very attractive.
 Domestic bliss
Plenty for "under contruction" sites
The bell (actually unside down lotus flower) is everywhere and the symbol for this part of Java
Cats like a warm spot everywhere in the world
 Backyard / sideyard gardens
Odd building right next to the river - the guys working on it - wanted to give us a tour - they were very proud, we politely declined.
  Interesting statues

Anyone for a couple of coconuts?

Two close rivers are needed for Hindu temples (at least according to our driver - Muslim but who's comment on religion was "mosque is like Moscow - then spit

 Interesting wild life everywhere
Another interesting sunset

Jess and I just made it back to the hotel before dark (which was our curfew from Janet)
